Wexford is a long drive. Here's how we make it work.
We're based in Dublin, and Wexford town is around two hours away down the M11 and N11. We don't have a depot or a van in the south-east, and we won't pretend otherwise. What we do is plan Wexford trips in advance and fit several jobs into the same day, which keeps the visit worthwhile and the price fair.
From your side, it's simple:
- Send photos and your Eircode, with a few dates that suit you.
- Get a fixed price and a choice of dates, usually the same day. The price is agreed before anyone gets in the van.
- Confirm a date. It might not be this week, but it will be the date we've agreed.
If you're flexible, say so, because it opens up more options. And if there's a deadline, like guests arriving or a sale closing, tell us at the start so we can plan around it.
Town houses off the Main Street
The old centre of Wexford is a tight grid of narrow streets running up from the quays, with terraced houses and town houses, some with shops below. Inside, the carpets are usually in the hall, on a steep stairs and in the bedrooms, and in older houses there's sometimes a wool carpet or runner.
Narrow streets mean parking a little way off and carrying the extractor in. That's normal for us, and the machine is designed for it. Wool gets a test patch, controlled moisture and a solution that suits it, and takes longer to dry than synthetic carpet. If you're not sure what you have, our wool carpet cleaning page explains what to look for.
Out from the centre, the estates around the town are mostly family houses and rentals, with the familiar mix of carpeted stairs, landings and bedrooms. Those are straightforward jobs, and usually dry within a few hours.

Holiday homes at Curracloe and Rosslare
The coast around Wexford town is full of holiday homes, from Curracloe to the north to Rosslare Strand to the south. They get a summer of heavy use and then sit closed for months. That pattern shapes what the carpets need.
- Sand, carried in from the beach and ground into halls and bedrooms all summer
- Spills and stains from a different set of guests every week
- Damp and mustiness after a winter with the heating off
- Mattresses that have seen sun cream, wet swimsuits and the odd accident
We usually clean holiday homes just before the season opens or just after it closes. Mattresses are worth doing on the same visit; see mattress cleaning.
Many owners live in Dublin or further away and can't be there on the day. That's fine. A neighbour, a caretaker or a key safe works, and we'll send photos of the finished rooms on WhatsApp so you can see the result without making the trip yourself. A fabric sofa that guests have used all summer can go on the same visit, after a care-label check and a colour test.
A house that has been closed up
Wexford trips often include houses that have been empty for a while: a holiday home after the winter, a family home after someone has moved into care, or a house waiting to be sold. Carpets in houses like these can smell stale and feel slightly damp, even if they look clean.
A few things help before we arrive. Turn the water and electricity back on. Heat the house for a day, and air it with the windows open for an hour. Then, after the clean, keep some heat on, because a cold house can take a full day to dry a carpet that would dry in a few hours in a warm one.
If the house needs emptying first, our Wexford house clearance page explains how we do that, and the carpets can be cleaned once the rooms are clear.

What to have ready on the day
A long drive is wasted if we can't get in or can't plug in. Before we arrive:
- Check the water is running and there's a working socket in or near each room.
- Pick up small items from the floors, and anything stored under beds.
- Make sure someone can let us in, or arrange a key.
- Tell us about parking, especially on a narrow town-centre street.
We bring everything else: the extractor, hoses, pre-treatments and air movers. We're fully insured on every job, and Ciprian, who leads the carpet work, is fully trained in carpet cleaning through a Prochem course he took in 2018.
Castlebridge, Rosslare, Curracloe and around
We cover Wexford town and the area around it, including Castlebridge, Curracloe, Piercestown, Drinagh and Rosslare. Further north in the county, see carpet cleaning in Gorey, and for Enniscorthy clearances, our Enniscorthy house clearance page. For every other town we visit outside Dublin, see carpet cleaning across Leinster.
