Power washing in Wicklow, from coast to lakes

Wicklow is two very different counties in one. Along the coast, towns like Bray, Greystones, Wicklow town and Arklow deal with wind, rain and salt off the sea. Inland, the houses climb into the mountains and around the Blessington Lakes, where shade, damp and trees make moss the main enemy.

We power wash on both sides of the county, with the same approach everywhere: hot-water pressure washing for paving, concrete and stone, and a low-pressure soft wash for render, painted walls and roofs. You'll get a fixed price from photos before anything is booked.

The coastal towns

Bray has everything from Victorian and Edwardian houses near the seafront to big estates further back towards the N11. Period houses there often have steps, tiled paths and painted fronts that need a careful hand, while the estates are mostly block-paved drives and slab patios.

Greystones has grown a lot over the past couple of decades, with newer developments such as Charlesland alongside the older town. Expect cobble-lock drives, porcelain and sandstone patios, and uPVC fascias that go grey in the salty air.

Wicklow town and Arklow have a similar mix of older terraces near the centre and estates on the edges, plus plenty of bungalows and one-off houses on the roads out of town.

Near the sea, two problems come together. Salt leaves a dull film on windowsills, frames, fascias and doors, and wind-driven rain keeps the shaded side of the house damp enough for algae. A gentle wash shifts salt without any force, and fascia and soffit cleaning takes the grey film off dull uPVC.

Blessington and west Wicklow

On the far side of the mountains, Blessington sits on the N81 beside the lakes. The town has newer estates with block-paved drives, but the countryside around it, towards Ballymore Eustace, Valleymount and Lacken, is mostly one-off houses on bigger sites, often with long drives and big gardens.

You'll see a lot of local granite around the lakes, in walls, gate piers, steps and older houses. Granite cleans up well, but old walls often have soft lime mortar that needs care, so we keep the pressure down near the joints. More on that in stone cleaning.

Rural houses here are more likely to be on a private well or a group water scheme, so let us know if that applies. It doesn't usually stop the job; we just need to plan the water supply before the day.

Hillside homes: shade, damp and steep drives

Wherever the land rises, from Enniskerry and Kilmacanogue up to Roundwood, houses tend to sit among trees, on slopes, with at least one side that rarely sees the sun. That's where moss settles into the joints of drives, algae turns patios slippery and gutters fill with leaves every autumn.

What usually needs doing in the hills:

  • Steep or sloping drives that turn into a slide in winter (driveway cleaning)
  • Stone and slab patios in the shade of hedges and trees (patio cleaning)
  • Mossy roofs, especially on the slope facing north or under trees (roof cleaning)
  • Blocked gutters and downpipes after the leaves come down (gutter cleaning)
  • Green steps and paths, often the most slippery spots of all (moss removal)

On a sloping site, we work from the top down and keep an eye on where the water goes, so it ends up in a drain or soakaway rather than in your neighbour's garden or across a country road.

Send us your Wicklow photos A wide shot and a close-up of each area, plus your Eircode or nearest town, is enough. We'll reply with a fixed price, usually the same day.

What helps us quote a Wicklow job

Because Wicklow covers so much ground, a few details save time:

  • Location: your Eircode, or at least the nearest town and a landmark
  • Access: narrow lanes, steep entrances, low branches and where the van can turn
  • Water: where the outside tap is, and if you're on mains, a well or a group scheme
  • Surfaces: a close-up of each, since stone, slabs, block paving and tarmac all clean differently

If you're also clearing a house in the county, we do house clearance in Wicklow as well, with separate pages for Bray and Greystones. For every other surface we clean, see our power washing page.

The process

How we power wash

The right pressure, the right heat, the right method for each surface.

  1. Send photos

A couple of photos of the surface and a rough size is usually enough to price it.

  2. Fixed quote

We tell you the method, the time it takes and the price before booking.

  3. Prep

Furniture and pots moved, drains and doors protected, and plants rinsed down.

  4. Wash

Hot-water pressure washing or a low-pressure soft wash, matched to the surface.

  5. Rinse & check

Joints, edges and steps finished, and the area rinsed and walked over with you.

  6. Advice

How to keep it clean longer, and when it’s likely to need doing again.

Ciprian and his team were so sympathetic and efficient when I contacted them to help clear out the apartment after a bereavement. The came and were very respectful in clearing completely everything, rubbish, books, clothes, kitchen, living room, bedroom in the apartment and left it spotless. The clearence took a lot of stress off me. I highly recommend them.

I found Ciprians company on a Google search as I needed help with a very cluttered attic. I liked that the website said he would allow sorting and keeping on the day as I was as hoping to find items not seen for a long time. All other companies stressed that items to be kept needed to be removed before the visit.
I have added a photo of the cover Ciprian put on the stair carpet. He also cleans carpets and wears all his hats on every job.
His helper was unavailable but Ciprian did the job excellently on his own. Again I was given time to check before every bag was removed to his truck.
He reused my vacuum bags to gather loose items in the attic and removed everything including loose wood left left by previous workmen doing flooring.
I did not need anything put back into the attic as Ciprian had offered as it was to be left empty for another company who will install shelving etc
Excellent communication via WhatsApp prior to the day and very polite.
Reasonable price for the work involved..
Thank you..

I highly recommend Ciprian and his team. From my first contact to booking, everything was handled professionally and efficiently.

They carried out a complete house clearance for us and did an excellent job. The team was friendly, reliable, and always available to answer any questions. They arrived on time, completed the work efficiently, and left the property spotless.

I would happily recommend this company to anyone looking for a professional and dependable service.

FAQ

Questions people ask us

Which parts of Wicklow do you cover?

The whole county: the coast from Bray and Greystones down through Kilcoole, Newtownmountkennedy, Wicklow town, Rathnew and Arklow, and inland to Enniskerry, Roundwood and Blessington. If you're somewhere more remote, send photos and ask.

Our house is on a private well. Can you still power wash?

Usually, yes, but tell us when you send photos. A well pump that's fine for the house can struggle to keep up with a full day of washing, so we'll talk about the supply before the day and plan around it, rather than finding out halfway through.

Do you come out to Blessington and the lakes?

Yes. Blessington and the villages around the lakes are well within reach from Dublin along the N81. Send photos of the drive, patio or walls, and mention if the house is down a long lane or has a steep entrance.

We live near the seafront in Bray. How often should the outside be washed?

It depends on how exposed the house is and what you want cleaned. Salt film on windowsills, uPVC and doors builds up quickly in winter, while paving tends to go green on the sheltered, shady side. There's no fixed rule, so we'll give you an honest view from your photos rather than sell you a schedule.

Our drive is gravel with a paved apron. What can you clean?

We clean the paved apron, kerbs, edging, steps and paths, and leave the loose gravel alone, since pressure washing stones only scatters them. If the gravel has moss or weeds through it, that's a job for raking or weeding, not washing.

We're in Dublin during the week. Can you clean our Wicklow house while we're away?

Yes, as long as we can get into the garden and use an outside tap. Leave the side gate unlocked or give us the code, tell us about any dogs or alarms, and we'll send you photos on WhatsApp once it's finished.

Had to move some stuff out of storage at short notice. Ciprian responded with a next day service. Very efficient and good value. A pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended.
