Clearing homes across Meath
Meath wraps around the north-west edge of Dublin, so much of it is closer to us than people expect. Spotless is based in Dublin, and Meath is part of our service area, which takes in Dublin and all of Leinster. We clear full houses, single rooms, attics, garages, sheds and farm outbuildings anywhere in the county.
Every Meath job is priced from your photos, and the figure we agree before booking is the figure you pay. On the day, the crew checks drawers, pockets and boxes before anything is loaded, you get time to pull out what you want to keep, and the rooms are swept when the last bag goes. We're fully insured on every job, and as an authorised waste carrier (permit NWCPO-25-13287-01) we take everything away legally.
Commuter towns in the south and east of the county
Since the late 1990s, a large share of Meath's new housing has gone up in the towns closest to Dublin, as families moved out for more space. The route and the job change a little depending on which side of the county you're in:
| Area | How we get there from Dublin | What usually fills the van |
|---|---|---|
| Dunboyne and Dunshaughlin | The M3, which starts at the edge of Dublin 15 | Attics, garages and the bedrooms of grown-up children |
| Ashbourne and Ratoath | The N2, then the M2 beyond Ashbourne | Boarded attics, garages and garden sheds |
| Enfield | The M4, at the Kildare border | Estate houses and the country homes around them |
| Laytown, Bettystown and Stamullen | The M1 | Estate and coastal houses, often rentals between tenants |
In these estates, the house itself is rarely the problem. It's the attic that was boarded in the first year and filled ever since, the garage that stopped holding a car long ago, and the shed at the end of the garden. We'll take on any one of those by itself, or all three in a single visit. See attic clearance, garage clear-outs and shed clearance.
Loading is usually easy here: we back onto the driveway or park outside and keep the footpath clear for neighbours. If your estate has a management company or tight visitor parking, mention it when you send photos.

Navan, Trim and Kells
The older towns along the Boyne and the Blackwater are a different kind of job. Navan, where the two rivers meet, has terraced streets and town houses near the centre and large estates on its outskirts. Trim and Kells have narrower streets in the middle, with houses and flats above shops where the van can't always stop at the door.
In town centres, we stage everything inside first and then load quickly, so the van isn't holding up the street. Flats up a stairs, or in a block with a lift, are covered by our apartment clearance service.
Landlords between tenants and families selling a parent's town house make up a lot of this work. We remove what has to go, leave whatever belongs with the property, and send photos of the empty rooms if you can't be there to see them.
Farmhouses, bungalows and yard buildings
Away from the towns, Meath is rich farmland dotted with bungalows, two-storey farmhouses and one-off homes. A country clearance is usually about more than the house: there's often a workshop, a car shed, a store or two and old stables, each holding decades of tools, timber and furniture that was moved out of the house years ago.
When a family home is cleared after a death, it's usually the house everyone grew up in, and the outbuildings carry a lifetime of work. We go at your pace, set aside papers, photographs and anything personal, and can clear in stages if the family wants to meet in between. Our bereavement clearance page explains how that works alongside probate. If a home has become overfull over the years, our hoarder clearance approach is quiet, patient and free of judgement.
Some things need specialist handling and aren't part of an ordinary clearance: farm chemicals, old fuel, gas cylinders and anything that might contain asbestos, such as old roof sheeting. Photograph them and we'll tell you honestly what we can and can't take.

Getting a price, and how far ahead to book
Send photos of every room, the attic, the garage and each outbuilding, along with your Eircode and a shot of the lane or gate if it's narrow. An estate house can usually be quoted straight from those. Larger jobs, such as a farmhouse with a full yard, or a house at the far end of the county towards Oldcastle, are priced from the photos too, then scheduled for a date when we can bring the right crew and enough van space to finish in one go.
Most full houses take one to two days. The price comes down to the volume, the carry to the van, anything needing special disposal (fridges, mattresses, electricals) and the crew's time. Our main house clearance page sets out everything a full clearance covers.
Want a price for a Meath clearance? WhatsApp photos of each room, the attic, the garage and any outbuildings, with your Eircode. You'll get a fixed price back, usually the same day.
As we load, things worth reusing are put aside where possible, metals, appliances and electricals are separated for recycling, and the rest goes to licensed waste facilities.
Carpets and outside surfaces
An empty house is the easiest time to get the carpets done. We offer hot-water extraction carpet cleaning across Leinster, Meath included, and we power wash driveways, patios and paths, which helps before sale photos or a new tenancy. To see the other counties and towns we work in, go to areas covered.
