House clearance in Carlow town and county
Carlow is part of our everyday area, which covers Dublin and all of Leinster, and our office line even shares the county's 059 area code. Here we take on whole houses and single rooms, attics and garages, sheds and farm outbuildings, rentals and offices, and every one of them is priced from your photos before a date is fixed.
Nothing about the way we work changes because you're an hour down the motorway. You still get one agreed price, as long as you need to decide what's staying, a crew that goes through drawers and boxes before anything is carried out, dust sheets over the stair carpet, and swept floors in every room at the finish.
From Dublin, Carlow is straight down the M9, and the town has a station on the Kilkenny and Waterford line, so relatives travelling from the city can take the train down and meet us at the house.
Carlow town
Carlow town sits on the River Barrow, with Graiguecullen across the bridge on the Laois side and the M9 running past to the east. The housing is a mix that changes as you move out from the centre:
- Older terraces and town houses near the centre and the river, with street parking and narrower stairs. We stage everything inside so the van isn't on the street for long.
- Estates of semi-ds and detached houses around the edge of town, where loading is usually easy but the attic and garage hold years of storage. See attic clearance and garage clear-outs.
- Apartments and student lets, especially near the SETU campus and the town centre. Lease changeovers, lifts and management company rules all need a bit of planning. See apartment clearance.
- Flats over shops on the main streets, reached by a side door and a narrow stairs, with the van stopping wherever loading is allowed. Our flat clearance page covers how those go.
Selling a house in town, or turning a rental around before the next lease? We take out whatever has to go, leave behind anything that belongs with the property, and message you photos of the empty rooms, so it's ready for the estate agent, an inspection or a cleaner. See property clearance.

Tullow, Bagenalstown and the rest of the county
Outside the town, County Carlow is rural. Tullow sits on the Slaney to the east, Bagenalstown and Leighlinbridge are down the Barrow to the south, and Borris is further on, under the Blackstairs. Between them are bungalows, farmhouses and one-off homes, many with a garage, a shed and an outhouse or two.
A rural clearance usually means more buildings, more carrying and more van loads, so photograph each outbuilding as well as the house. Tell us about the lane, the gate and where a van can turn. Old heating oil, farm chemicals and any sheeting or tiles that could contain asbestos are specialist jobs, so flag them in your photos and we'll be upfront about what we can and can't remove. For sheds on their own, see shed clearance.
When a farmhouse or family home is being cleared after a death, we go at the family's pace, keep papers, photographs and personal things to one side for you, and are happy to do the work over more than one visit. The bereavement house clearance page explains our approach in more detail. Where the sheer quantity kept in a home has made day-to-day life hard, our hoarder clearance approach is discreet and patient.
Office and business clear-outs in Carlow
Clearances aren't only for homes. In Carlow we also take on offices, shops and small business premises, from a single storeroom to a full floor. Typical loads are desks and office chairs, filing cabinets, racking, canteen fridges and microwaves, and boxes of old computers and printers. We'll agree a date that suits the business, and we can work in phases if staff are still using part of the building. Get the data dealt with on any old computers before we come, and tell us about lifts, loading access and any landlord rules. Our office clearance page has the detail, and larger units are covered by our commercial and warehouse clearance service.

What we clear, and how it's priced
A full clearance takes everything you've decided not to keep: beds, wardrobes and the rest of the furniture; white goods like the fridge, cooker and washing machine; clothes, books, crockery and ornaments; and whatever is in the attic, the garage, the sheds and the garden. A partial job, say one room or just the outbuildings, is priced on exactly the same basis.
A typical full house in the county is a one- or two-day job for a crew of two or three, and a start within a few days of the quote is often possible. If a sale is closing or a lease is ending on a set date, mention it with your photos and we'll work backwards from that deadline.
Four things set the price: how many van loads there are, the carry (stairs, the walk to the van, gates and lanes), items with their own disposal route such as fridges, freezers, mattresses and electricals, and the crew's hours on site. Most quotes come straight from photos. Our house clearance cost guide goes into each factor.
Nothing goes into one big pile. Furniture worth reusing is kept aside where possible, metal and electrical items are split out for recycling, and only what's left is brought to licensed facilities. We're an authorised waste carrier, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01.
Carpets and the outside
An empty house is the best moment to have the carpets cleaned, and we do that in Carlow as well, by hot-water extraction. You can watch one of our Carlow carpet jobs in the video further down, and read more on our Carlow carpet cleaning page.
Outside, the power washer takes care of driveways, patios, paths and walls, including the red and green algae that builds up on paving. See power washing in Carlow. Either one makes a real difference to sale photos.
