Small county, two big towns
Louth is the smallest county in Ireland, but it holds two of the largest towns in the country: Drogheda at the southern end and Dundalk at the northern end. Between them are the farmland of mid-Louth, a stretch of coast and the hills of the Cooley Peninsula. The M1 runs the length of it, which makes Louth one of the simplest Leinster counties for us to reach from our base in Dublin.
We clear full houses, single rooms, attics, garages, sheds and outbuildings across the county. There's no Louth depot. The crew and van travel up for the job, so each one is planned from your photos and the fixed price is agreed before we book. Bigger jobs, such as a farmhouse with a yard or a holiday home at the far end of the peninsula, get a date set aside, so we arrive with the right crew and finish in one trip.
Drogheda has a page of its own: see house clearance in Drogheda for the old town on the Boyne and the estates around it. The rest of this page is about everywhere else.
Dundalk and the north of the county
Dundalk has a bit of everything. Near the centre there are older terraces and town houses, then big estates on every side of the town, plus apartments and student lets around DkIT. Estate houses usually load easily from a driveway, and most of the work tends to be upstairs. If the rest of the house is fine, an attic clearance or a garage clear-out can be booked by itself.
In the terraces close to the centre, parking is tighter and the stairs narrower. We line everything up inside and load in short bursts. For flats and apartment blocks, management company rules, lifts and the bin store all come into the plan; see apartment clearance.
South of the town, the coast road runs down past Blackrock and Annagassan towards Clogherhead. Along that shore there's a mix of family homes, retirement bungalows and holiday houses, so the clear-outs vary too, from a couple downsizing to a family emptying a house for sale. Sea air is hard on anything left in a garage or shed for years, so expect rusted tools and damp cardboard, and photograph them so we can plan the load.

Ardee, Dunleer and the farmland in between
Mid-Louth is quieter. Ardee sits on the River Dee on the N2, Dunleer is just off the M1, and around them are Castlebellingham, Collon and a lot of good farmland. The housing is mostly bungalows, farmhouses and one-off homes, many of them with a garage and a few outbuildings.
A rural clear-out often starts in the kitchen and finishes in the yard. In a single visit we can take on:
- The house: every room, wardrobe and press, with drawers checked as we go
- Outbuildings: sheds, stores and old workshops, emptied and swept (shed clearance)
- The garden: broken furniture, cracked pots and heaps of cuttings
- Appliances: fridges, freezers, cookers and washing machines, kept apart for recycling
Farm chemicals, waste oil, gas cylinders and old asbestos sheeting are a job for a specialist. Show them in the photos and we'll tell you straight away if they're something we can't take.

Carlingford and the Cooley Peninsula
The Cooley Peninsula is the most striking part of the county, and the trickiest to clear. Homes are scattered over the hillsides between Carlingford Lough and Dundalk Bay, and some of the roads up to them are narrow and steep, with little room to turn a van. Carlingford itself is a medieval village with tight streets.
Plenty of houses here are holiday homes or family places used a few weeks a year. They're often cleared for a sale or after a death, while the family lives somewhere else. That suits a photo quote well: send pictures of every room, the outside, the road up to the gate and anything heavy, and we'll choose the van around the access. When we finish, you get photos of the empty rooms.
When it's a parent's home
Clearing the house a mother or father lived in for decades is rarely just a job. We go slowly, set aside paperwork, photographs and keepsakes, and can work in stages if the family wants to go through things between visits. Our bereavement house clearance page explains how we work with executors and probate.
Some homes have become overfull over the years, often without anyone outside the family knowing. If that's the situation, our hoarder clearance service is discreet and patient, and it works at the pace of the person living there.
Need a Louth house cleared? Send photos of every room, the attic, the outbuildings and the road to the gate on WhatsApp, with your Eircode. We'll reply with a fixed price, usually the same day.
Price, permit and finishing touches
Four things set the price: the volume in van loads, the carry from the house to the van, anything that needs special disposal (fridges, freezers, mattresses and electricals), and how long the crew will need. A full house usually takes one to two days. Whatever we quote is what you pay, with the trip up the M1 already included.
We're fully insured on every job and hold waste collection permit NWCPO-25-13287-01 as an authorised waste carrier. Our house clearance page covers what's included in more detail.
Once the house is empty, it's a good moment to have the carpets cleaned or the driveway and paths washed before a sale. We offer carpet cleaning and power washing across Leinster, Louth included. Our areas covered page shows the rest of the counties we work in.
