The northside, postcode by postcode
North of the Liffey, the city splits into odd-numbered postal districts, and Fingal takes over beyond them. Here's where our northside pages sit:
| Postcode | Main areas | Our pages |
|---|---|---|
| Dublin 1 | North inner city, the IFSC, North Wall | Northside apartments |
| Dublin 3 | Clontarf, Marino, Fairview, East Wall | Clontarf, Marino |
| Dublin 5 | Raheny, Artane, Kilbarrack, Donnycarney | Raheny, Artane, Donnycarney |
| Dublin 7 | Cabra, Phibsborough, Stoneybatter, Smithfield | Cabra, Phibsborough |
| Dublin 9 | Drumcondra, Santry, Whitehall, Beaumont | Drumcondra, Santry |
| Dublin 11 | Glasnevin, Finglas, Ballymun | Glasnevin garages, Glasnevin sheds |
| Dublin 13 | Sutton, Howth, Bayside, Baldoyle, Portmarnock | Sutton, Howth, Bayside, Portmarnock |
| Dublin 15 | Blanchardstown, Castleknock, Clonsilla, Ongar | Blanchardstown, Castleknock |
| Dublin 17 | Coolock, Darndale, Priorswood | Covered from our Dublin page |
| Fingal (K67, K36) | Swords, Malahide, Donabate | Swords, Malahide, Donabate |
Some areas straddle two districts: Glasnevin runs across Dublin 9 and 11, and Coolock across Dublin 5 and 17. It makes no difference to us. Send the Eircode with your photos and we'll take it from there.
What northside houses are like to clear
The northside has almost every kind of Dublin house, and each one shapes the job a little differently.
Red-brick terraces near the city
Drumcondra, Phibsborough, Stoneybatter and parts of Glasnevin and Fairview are full of Victorian and Edwardian red-brick. Narrow halls, steep stairs and a back return make for a slower carry, and parking is usually on the street. Many of these houses have been in one family for generations, or have been divided into flats.
The corporation housing of the 1920s to the 1950s
Marino was laid out in the 1920s as a garden suburb, with houses built around greens. Cabra followed in the 1930s and 40s, and Donnycarney and Artane filled out through the middle of the century. Rooms are compact, many terraces have no side access, and plenty of houses still belong to the families who first moved in, so a clearance can mean sixty or seventy years of contents.
Along the coast
Clontarf mixes period houses on the seafront with 1930s semis behind. Raheny, Sutton and Bayside are largely family homes from the middle of the century and the 1970s, close to the DART. Howth is the outlier: hillside houses, steep drives, flights of steps to the front door and narrow roads, where we plan the carry and the parking carefully.
Dublin 15 and Fingal
Blanchardstown, Castleknock, Swords, Donabate, Santry and the newer parts of Malahide are mostly estates built from the 1970s onwards: semis, townhouses and duplexes with driveways. Loading is easy, but the attic, the integral garage and the shed are usually where most of the volume is.
Two real northside jobs
Two of the real jobs on this site come from the northside. In Sutton, Dublin 13, we cleared a house and photographed three of its bedrooms before and after; the pictures at the top of this page show the box room. In Raheny, we cleared both a house and an apartment, and filmed them.

Clearance services across the northside
Every service we offer is available on the northside, from a single room to a whole house:
- Bereavement clearances of family homes, at the family's pace.
- Hoarder clearances, calm, private and staged where needed.
- Apartment clearances in city blocks and suburban schemes.
- Attic clearances, garage clear-outs and shed clearances, on their own or with the house.
For how a full clearance works, what's included and how the price is reached, see our main house clearance page. Spotless is an authorised waste carrier (permit NWCPO-25-13287-01) and fully insured on every job.
Once a house is empty, it's often the moment to freshen up what's staying. We also clean carpets on the northside, with local pages for Drumcondra, Clontarf, Malahide and Dublin 15.
Getting the van to the door
On the northside, access depends more on the street than the house. In the red-brick districts there's usually permit parking and no driveway, so we stage everything inside and load quickly. Around Croke Park, match and concert days bring road closures and parking restrictions. On the main routes out of the city, bus lanes and clearways limit where the van can stop. Out in the estates of Dublin 15 and Fingal, a driveway makes it simple.
Tell us about parking when you send photos, and we'll plan the day around it.
