Clearing homes in and around Mullingar
Mullingar is Westmeath's county town, and its houses fall into two broad groups for us. In and around the town there are older terraces near the centre and large estates of semi-ds and detached houses that went up as it grew. Out beyond the edges, towards the lakes, there are bungalows, farmhouses and family homes on big sites, many with long gardens, sheds and a lane of their own.
We clear both, from a single attic to a whole property with outbuildings. Spotless is a Dublin-based crew covering all of Leinster, and Mullingar is a planned run out the M4 and up the N4. You send photos, we send a fixed price, and the job is booked for a day when we can bring the right van and finish properly.
Estate homes around the town
Mullingar's estates are mostly family houses with driveways, back gardens and a garage or shed. After years of family life the stored spaces fill up first, so a Mullingar clear-out often begins in the attic and the garage. We bring the loft contents down through the hatch with the landing protected, clear the garage back to the floor, and empty the shed. See attic clearance, garage clear-outs and shed clearance.
The full-house jobs in the estates tend to be about moving on: downsizing, a sale, or a parent's home after a death. Loading is usually easy, with the van on the driveway and a short carry. In the older terraces closer to the centre, there's less room to park, so everything is staged inside before the van arrives. For apartments with lifts and management rules, see apartment clearance.
Mullingar also has plenty of rented houses and flats, and landlords often need one emptied between tenancies without making the trip themselves. Send photos once the tenants have moved out, tell us which beds, wardrobes or appliances belong to the property, and give us the date the next tenancy starts. We take the rest, sweep through, and send photos of the empty rooms so you can arrange the cleaner or the next viewing.

Lakeside houses: what's different
The country around Mullingar is lake country, and plenty of houses sit near the water with long gardens and a few outbuildings. Some are lived in all year; others are second homes or family places that are used now and then. Clearing one involves a few extra things:
- The lane in. Often long, sometimes unsurfaced, occasionally soft after rain. A photo from the road tells us which van to send.
- The garden. Long gardens collect broken furniture, old pots, rotted trellis and heaps of cuttings. We can clear it with the house; see garden clearance.
- The outbuildings. Sheds and stores may not have been opened in years, and their contents are often damp. We take it all, with metal kept apart for recycling.
- The power. If the electricity is off, rooms and attics are darker and slower to work in, so let us know.
Anything hazardous, such as heating oil, chemicals, gas bottles or asbestos sheeting, is for a specialist. Show it in the photos and we'll tell you before the day.

When it's a parent's home
When a Mullingar clearance follows a death, it's often in a house the family has owned for decades. We work at the family's pace. Photographs, letters and documents are set aside, nothing personal goes without asking, and the job can be done over two or more visits if people need time between them. Our bereavement clearance page explains how we work with executors.
Sometimes a parent's home has become so full that it's difficult to get around. That's more common than people think, and it's nothing to be embarrassed about. Our hoarder clearance service is quiet and patient, and it goes at the pace of the person whose home it is.
The price, the permit and what comes next
You get one price, from your photos, before anything is booked. It takes in the amount to be cleared, how far it has to be carried, separate disposal for fridges, mattresses or electricals, and the crew's time, travel included. It won't change on the day. A full estate house usually takes a day or two; a lakeside property with a long garden and several sheds sits at the top of that range, and we'll say so when we quote.
We're fully insured on every job and carry the contents as an authorised waste carrier, permit NWCPO-25-13287-01. Usable furniture is kept back where we can, metal and appliances are recycled, and the rest goes to licensed waste sites.
Once the house is empty, carpet cleaning in Mullingar is easier than it will ever be. For what a full job includes, see house clearance, and for the rest of the county, house clearance in Westmeath.
