House clearance in Celbridge: the short version
Celbridge has grown from a village on the Liffey into one of north Kildare's bigger commuter towns, and most of its homes are family houses in estates built from the 1970s on. A lot of the clearances that follow are about downsizing, an attic or garage that has filled up over the years, or a family home after a death. We do all of these. Here's what you can count on:
- A fixed price from photos, settled before anything goes in the diary.
- No rush on the decisions. Stick a note on what's staying, or make the calls with us as each room is emptied.
- Every drawer and box opened and looked through for papers, photos, cash and keys first.
- Stair carpets covered, and doors, banisters and walls minded on the way out.
- Empty, tidy rooms with a sweep or vacuum wherever the floor needs it.
Downsizing from a Celbridge family home
Leaving a house you raised a family in is a big job, and most of it is decisions rather than lifting. This order tends to work:
- Measure the new place. Decide which furniture actually fits, and let the rest go.
- Offer pieces to family first. Give them a date to collect, so nothing waits forever.
- Pack what you're taking. Mark those boxes clearly, or keep them in one room.
- Send us photos of everything else. Every room, the attic, the garage and the shed.
- We clear it in one visit, or two. Before the move, after it, or split either side.
If you're clearing a parent's home rather than your own, the pace matters even more. Our bereavement house clearance service is set up for exactly that, and a home that has become hard to manage gets the same patient approach through our hoarder clearance service.

Attics, garages and sheds in Celbridge's estates
Estate houses here usually came with a decent attic, a garage or side passage and a back garden big enough for a shed. Decades on, those are often where most of the clearance is:
- Attics. Boxes of school books, suitcases, old lamps, Christmas decorations and loose timber. We clear through the hatch safely and don't disturb the insulation. See attic clearance.
- Garages. Converted or not, they tend to fill with tools, bikes, old shelving and furniture that was "only going in for a while". See garage clear-outs.
- Sheds. Emptied, or taken down and removed if the timber has gone. See shed clearance.
If the home is an apartment rather than a house, the job is planned differently, around lifts and management rules. See apartment clearance.
Around the town: access and parking
Celbridge's Main Street runs down towards the gates of Castletown House, and it's busy, with limited space to stop. For older houses and businesses near the centre, we organise the load inside first, so the van only sits on the street for a short spell. Out in the estates, a driveway or the road outside usually does the job.
Tell us with your photos if you're on a narrow cul-de-sac, a shared parking area or a road where cars line both sides. It helps us send the right size of crew and avoid surprises for the neighbours.
Celbridge sits between Leixlip and Straffan, with the M4 a few minutes north and Hazelhatch station to the south. Homes across the Liffey bridge and out along the country roads towards Ardclough are all part of the same patch for us, so if your address says Celbridge but feels like the countryside, that's fine.

Pricing, timing and what happens next
A Celbridge quote reflects the contents in front of us: the number of van loads, how far and how awkward the carry is, any fridges, freezers, mattresses or electricals that need their own disposal route, and the hours the job will take. That gives you one fixed price up front. Dates within the next week are often free, and if a closing date is looming, tell us at the start so the clearance lands ahead of it. The cost guide breaks those factors down.
Loading and sorting happen together: usable pieces are kept back for reuse, metal and electrical items are recycled, and the remainder is delivered to licensed facilities. The waste permit we collect under is NWCPO-25-13287-01. If you're selling, we can follow on with carpet cleaning or power washing once the house is empty. For the rest of the county, see house clearance in Kildare.
