The town, not the county
This page covers Kildare town itself and the countryside around the Curragh: the old town around the Square and St Brigid's Cathedral, the estates that have grown up around it, and the rural homes out towards Suncroft, Brownstown, Kildangan and Rathangan. If your house is elsewhere in the county, our house clearance in Kildare page covers the whole of it, and there are separate pages for Newbridge next door and Athy to the south.
Kildare town is a straight run down the M7 from Dublin, so it's an easy trip for our crew. We price every job from photos before anything is booked, and we plan the day so that one visit does it, with the right van and enough hands from the start.
Around the Square and the older streets
The oldest part of town, around the Market Square and the cathedral, has terraced and two-storey town houses, some of them above or beside shops. Rooms are smaller, stairs are narrower, and parking outside is limited and much in demand. We stage everything inside and keep the van's stops short, loading from the nearest legal spot rather than blocking the street. A quiet weekday morning is the best time for it, before the town's traffic builds.
These homes are often being cleared after a long time in one family. We check every drawer and cupboard, set aside papers and photographs, and go at the family's pace. Our bereavement house clearance page explains how we work.
Estates on the edges of town
Kildare has grown a lot, and most of its homes are now in estates around the edges of the town, from older estates of semi-ds to much newer developments of semis, townhouses and some apartments. Loading here is usually easy, with a driveway at the door. The volume is in the usual places:
- The attic, often partly floored and full of boxes; see attic clearance
- The garage or side store, with bikes, tools, shelving and spare appliances; see garage clear-outs
- The back garden, with a shed, garden furniture and children's toys; see shed clearance
- Apartments and duplexes, which need lift and parking arrangements; see apartment clearance
A three-bed estate house is usually one day. There are plenty of rented homes in the town as well, so landlords between tenants are a regular call; our page on property clear-outs in Kildare is written for them.

The Curragh side: bungalows, yards and long lanes
Around the edges of the Curragh and out on the roads towards the villages, the homes are mostly bungalows, farmhouses and one-off houses on big sites. This is horse country too, so some properties come with stables, tack rooms, feed stores and yards as well as sheds and garages. Older farmhouses often have rooms that nobody has used in years, full of heavy furniture, and outbuildings stacked with timber, scrap metal and old machinery parts. The scrap metal goes for recycling, and the timber is sorted from the general waste.
A rural clearance means more buildings and more carrying, so we'll want photos of each outbuilding, the lane and the gate, plus a note of where a van can turn. We can't take fuel, veterinary products, paint, oils or chemicals, and anything that might contain asbestos needs a specialist; the rest of the buildings we can clear.

Kildare Village, race days and timing
Two things make traffic around Kildare town unpredictable:
- Kildare Village, the outlet shopping centre just outside the town, draws heavy traffic at weekends, on bank holidays and in the weeks before Christmas, especially around the M7 junction.
- Race days at the Curragh, above all the big summer meetings, bring crowds onto the roads around the racecourse.
We plan around both. Weekday starts are usually easiest, and if you live near the outlet or the racecourse, check the calendar before picking a date. Kildare station, on the main line to Dublin Heuston, is handy if family members want to come down by train to meet us.
Price, sorting and what happens next
You get one fixed price from your photos, agreed before you book. It covers the crew, the van, travel and disposal, and it depends on the volume, the carry and anything needing separate recycling, such as fridges, freezers, mattresses or electricals.
Furniture fit for reuse is put aside where possible, metals and electricals are sent for recycling, and the remainder goes to a licensed facility under waste collection permit NWCPO-25-13287-01. Full insurance covers every job. When a home has filled up beyond what someone can manage, we take it slowly and discreetly; see hoarder clearance. For the full service, see house clearance, and for carpets and power washing as well, Spotless in County Kildare.
